Welcome to the web page of Unit of Nanotechnology from Malaga University (UNUMA).
The Unit of Nanotechnology at the University of Malaga (UNUMA) is a specialized unit created by the Vicerrectorado for Research to support the development of these disciplines in the UMA. It is constituted by research groups with activity on different topics as thin films,nanofluids, catalysis, molecular electronic, nanotube, nanowire, ect. The Unit has its headquarters in the building of Bioinnovación and Nanotechnology UMA located in the Technological Park of Andalusia in Malaga (PTA), where the infrastructure of specific research laboratories and development laboratories of the participating groups are located.
The main goal of the Unit of Nanotechnology is to promote development in the UMA of Nanotechnology and of the Nano-Science applied to the Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physics and Engineering through synergy of participating groups and reach a critical mass in this field. This goal will be encouraged with the realization of lectures, workshops and scientific meetings, support for the academic activities of postgraduate, with the improvement of infrastructure of the UMA in this field of research and publicizing to the newly graduates the potential of this area of activity as well as establish relationships with companies interested in the implementation of these knowledges.
This Unit is a opportunity and support to the development of Nanotechnology and Nanoscience in the UMA, with the ultimate aim to create a technological center devoted to these activities that will support the industrial development of Malaga.
